WELCOME
Welcome to KAIMUN 2025!

We are honored and thrilled to launch the inaugural session of Kaohsiung Artificial Intelligence Model United Nations (KAIMUN) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming every facet of humanity, from medicine and education to defense and global governance. As nations race to harness AI’s potential, we witness not only technological advancement but also the emergence of an AI arms race, where the balance of geopolitical power increasingly hinges on algorithmic superiority. With AI being a central force in global power dynamics, it is quintessential for the next generation of diplomats to explore how we can harness its potential responsibly.
Taiwan, home to world-leading semiconductor production and cutting-edge research, is uniquely positioned at the heart of this race. Within Taiwan, Kaohsiung is emerging as a rising AI hub, transforming from an industrial port to a forward-looking smart city. Hosting an international Model United Nations (MUN) conference on AI, led by the League of Creative Minds (LCM), sponsored by NVIDIA, at Kaohsiung American School (KAS) would embody the fusion of education, diplomacy, and technological leadership. LCM, supported by Stanford University School of Law, is a preeminent US academic program of foreign policy and student leadership with extensive experience in organizing MUN conferences. As a global leader in AI computing, NVIDIA’s involvement would bring industry insight and credibility, while KAS’s diverse student body and academic excellence make it an ideal platform for youth-led dialogue on international AI policy. Such a conference would draw international participants and empower students to explore the societal impacts of AI, confront its challenges, and propose multilateral solutions, positioning Kaohsiung at the forefront of both innovation and global discourse.
KAIMUN stands at the intersection of technology and international diplomacy. Here, students will take deep dives into real-world questions of AI ethics, governance, security, and equity through insights from key voices and fruitful debates. This year, in addition to NVIDIA, KAIMUN is also sponsored by GSA, Meta, ORACLE, and Park One International Hospital.
We look forward to creating meaningful and memorable experiences for all participants!
Sincerely,

Evan Yang, Geoffrey Wen, Phineas Bjorlin, and Macarius Cheng
