On a bright summer morning, Evan Yang (Secretary General for KAIMUN), Geoffrey Wen (Deputy Secretary General for KAIMUN) and Phineas Bjorlin (Deputy Secretary General for KAIMUN) for the upcoming KAIMUN (Kaohsiung Artificial Intelligence Model United Nations) conference had the unique and fortunate opportunity to visit the headquarters of NVIDIA in Santa Clara, California. As the official sponsor of this year’s conference, NVIDIA kindly opened its doors and gave these future diplomats a glimpse into the frontier of AI, graphics, and innovation.

Evan Yang:

From the moment we stepped onto the futuristic looking campus, our visit kicked off with a warm welcome from NVIDIA’s education outreach team, who explained its vision - "Not only for technology but for its role in empowering global problem-solvers". KAIMUN’s theme this year, "The Rise of AI in Global Governance," perfectly aligned with NVIDIA’s mission to drive positive global impact through its own cutting-edge tools.

The highlight of the tour was a visit to NVIDIA’s AI and Robotics Lab, where researchers walked us through real-world applications of machine learning—from climate modeling and transportation to conflict prediction, tools that could one day aid the United Nations itself.

Many of us also got the chance to ask questions about ethics in AI, the digital divide, and how technology can help bridge geopolitical gaps rather than widen them. In an interview with Deepak Lala, a leader in NVIDIA DGX Cloud team, we asked what AI's impact would be on global governance and politics.

For many, it was an eye-opening reminder that the next generation of diplomats will be as reliant on data and innovation as it is on policy and dialogue.

We wrapped up our visit with a group photo at the entrance of NVIDIA. A Huge thanks to NVIDIA for powering this year’s conference and for reminding us that the future isn’t just something we inherit. It’s something we help create.
